Discover Your Groove 30 Day Challenge - Day 2

Welcome back to Day 2 of your 30 Day Body Groove Discovery Challenge!

I hope you had the chance to think about yesterday's activity and to write down the things in your life that you’d like to work on.

Today, we’re going to talk about the importance AND the limitations of coaches, advisors and mentors. Before we watch today’s workshop videos, let’s talk about the vital importance of having coaches in your life.

Like many of you, I enjoy watching figure skating in the Olympics. As someone who never felt at home on an ice rink, I’m amazed by what world class skaters can accomplish out there. And it’s helpful to realize that even the very best figure skaters in the world have coaches to help them. In fact, it’s often having the right coach that can make a figure skater’s career. But their coaches aren’t helpful because they have more ice skating skills, or more ice skating experience.

Think about it: every Olympic figure skater is coached by someone who is less skilled than they are.

The real value of coaches isn’t that they have all the answers to your questions, or that they’ve already solved all your problems. The most helpful coaches are the ones who can help you better understand YOURSELF, your abilities, your weaknesses, your blind spots, and your opportunities. As your Body Groove coach, that’s what I want to do for you.

Of course I don’t have all the answers for you, I’m just here as a guide to help you figure that out for yourself. I don’t think that successfully implementing the Discover Your Groove Workshop is as simple as copying all MY answers in MY life. Your answers will be different, because we are all unique…and that’s what makes life so great! We don’t need more Mistys, we just need one more of YOU!

So, with that in mind, let’s dive in to today’s videos. I’ll talk about coaching for a minute, and then lead you through a quick dance.

As your dancing, always challenge yourself but listen to your body. Move in the way that is right for you.

TODAY’S CHALLENGE: Look at your list from yesterday (or think about it if you didn’t write anything down) and pick one thing that you’d like to focus on. Now, think about how YOU can come up with some answers or solutions to whatever you picked. Really take some time to ponder how things can be better or different. Use that big, beautiful brain you have figure out the things that will help you have the life you deserve. The answers are inside of you and will mean so much more when you discover them.
